Data Deletion
Last updated: August 2, 2026
Personal Finance Manager doesn't have user accounts on our own servers — your financial data lives on your device, so deleting it is entirely in your hands. This page explains how, for each place your data can exist.
1. Data on your device
This is where all of your entries, contacts, categories, accounts, and settings live.
- Uninstall the App from your device — this immediately and permanently deletes the entire encrypted local database, along with cached backups and preferences.
- Alternatively, on Android go to Settings → Apps → Personal Finance Manager → Storage → Clear storage/data to wipe local data without uninstalling.
2. Your Google Drive backup (if you enabled it)
If you turned on cloud backup, an encrypted backup file may exist in the hidden app-data folder of your Google Drive (not visible in the regular Drive app). To remove it:
- Open Personal Finance Manager → Settings → Backup, and use Sign out to disconnect your Google account from the App.
- For a complete removal, visit Google Account → Security → Third-party apps with account access, find Personal Finance Manager, and remove its access. Google's own retention policies govern how quickly associated app-data is cleared afterward.
3. Crash reports & ad identifiers
Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics) and advertising data (Google AdMob) are retained and deleted according to Google's own data retention schedules, since we do not host this data ourselves. You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of ad personalization at any time from your device's Settings → Google → Ads.
